World Tour Winter 2012: Barcelona > Sevilla
On Thursday we took the Ave high speed train from Barcelona Sants to Sevilla Santa Justa. It was very exciting to be in the train station. We traveled light with only 3 suitcases, 2 backbacks, 2 carseats, 1 stroller, and the 4 of us. We had 4 seats around a table to ourselves. The ride was fun but long, especially since we woke up at 6 am and didn't sleep a wink on the train. Grandpa Miki, Grandma Sofia, and Primo Carlos met us at the station. Pau and I fell asleep during the car ride to Brenes. Then we had a delicious lunch of albondigas (meatballs) with rice.

Cosmo Caixa Museo de la Ciencia
On Wednesday Anna took us to Barcelona's science museum, Cosmo Caixa. It was awesome. We sent marbles rolling in parabolic paths, made whirlpools out of smoke and water, sent water spraying in arcs, watched a sand fountain and spent a long time watching the fish and other creatures in the inundated forest.

Bird Feeder
I am going to show you how to make bird food, OK? First, you take old bread slices and you put them in a plastic tray.
Next you carry them carefully with two hands to the patio.
Then you take out one piece at a time and you SMASH it with your foot to make bread crumbs.
And don't worry if it looks like a mess, the birds will eat it anyway.

A Day in Barcelona
Monday we took the Renfe train from Bellaterra to Barcelona - Placa Catalunya. From there we walked down Las Ramblas, through Barri Gotic to El Port.
It was a beautiful sunny day. We were intending to take the tram to Montjuic, but it was closed for maintenance. I was crushed.

Instead we rode rickshaws from the harbor to Placa Santa Catarina. It was a long day. We learned a lesson about travel with 2 kids and the importance of calling ahead and bringing sufficient snacks for two growing boys. At least Papa got to have a xistorra at his favorite place and Mama had her first xocolata desfeta.
